Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure used to remove unwanted body fat. This procedure involves suctioning out small areas of fat that are difficult to lose through exercise and a healthy diet. This procedure is performed on areas of the body where fat deposits tend to accumulate, such as the buttocks, thighs, and abdomen.
The goal of liposuction is to reshape the body, and the results are generally long-lasting and allow you to maintain a healthy weight.

It is important to note that this operation is not ideal for all people and it works best in people who have a normal weight and in areas where the skin is tight.

Liposuction performed for cosmetic reasons is usually not covered by insurance, however, liposuction is sometimes'>times used to treat certain conditions such as:

Lymphedema – a long-term condition that causes swelling in the arms and legs
Lipoedema – a condition in which there is an abnormal accumulation of fat in the legs, buttocks, and thighs.
If you are considering liposuction for cosmetic reasons, think very carefully before doing so.This procedure can be expensive, results cannot be guaranteed, and there are risks to consider. It is better to consult a doctor first to make sure that cosmetic surgery is suitable for your condition.

Procedures of liposuction:
Liposuction is usually performed under general anesthesia, although epidural anesthesia can be used for lower body liposuction.

The doctor will mark the area on your body where the fat is to be removed. Then, to reduce blood loss, bruising and swelling, inject a solution containing anesthetic and medicine into this area.

Breaking fat cells is done using high frequency vibrations, weak laser pulse or high pressure water jet. A small incision is made in the appropriate area and a suction tube connected to a vacuum device is inserted into the body (if the area is large, several incisions may be needed).

They move the suction tube back and forth to loosen the fat and pull it out. In the next step, any excess fluid and blood is drained from the surgical area.
At the end, the treated area is stitched and bandaged. This procedure usually takes 1 to 3 hours. Most people who undergo this procedure need to stay overnight in the hospital.

Recovery after liposuction:
If liposuction is performed under general anesthesia, another person should accompany the patient and take him home and not leave him alone in the first 24 hours after the operation.

How long it takes for a person to return to work depends on a variety of factors, such as the type of job the person has and the extent of the area treated.

The same applies to the time you can drive after the operation. The person should get information about these things from the doctor before the operation in order to plan the rest after the operation.

The bandage or corset can be removed while showering. The patient should refrain from intense activities for 4 to 6 weeks (but walking and general movement will not cause a problem).

The results of this method are not always noticeable until the inflation subsides. It may take up to 6 months for the area to completely return to its normal shape and the result of the operation to be known.
